Deposits are $250. That will hold your puppy of choice until he or she is ready to go. When you pick up your puppy the rest is due. You also have the option of paying off early as well.
Due On pick up : Pet Price Male or Female - $200 due (total price $450)
Breeder Price Male - $250 due (total price $500)
Breeder Price Female - $300 due (total price $550)
Breeders come with their registration paperwork immediately. Pet owners must present a spay neuter certificate before receiving their papers.
Do you ship?
Yes we ship. Shipping is $275.00 domestic, $400 international. Our puppies leave from Raleigh, NC. Your puppy cannot fly until 12 weeks of age, it also depends on the frailty of the puppy itself. A robust puppy will do fine, a puppy between 9-15oz may suffer too much stress during the flight. NOTE: Flights are only avalible when approved by the airline. Conditions such as temperature and avaliable space are not under our control and other arrangements will have to me made. Shipping payments will only be authorized AFTER having contacted the airline to see if there are any restrictions during the requested timeframe.
We are interested in the dam/sire. How much?
The dam and sire are not for sale by any means! At very rare moments we may have a retiree that has been spayed/neutered up for adoption. The sire is AVALIABLE FOR STUD SERVICES ONLY! Please go to Our Gentlemen's Page
Whom are you certified through?
All of our puppies including the sire and dam are registered with CPD. You can see for yourself at www.purepuppy.org. Our sire and dam are registered here and the puppies always come with CPD regisration!
Can I pay using personal check/money order/cashiers check?
Sorry but due to others in the past I do not accept money orders of any kind or certified cashiers checks. I DO ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS BUT THEY WILL BE HELD UNTIL THEY HAVE CLEARED. You wouldnt believe how advanced forgeries have become. But thanks to those people these options are no longer avaliable! Please use cash on hand or Paypal.com for your puppy purchase! Also spoof emails from Paypal will be reported to the proper authorities.
I do not accept "client's casheirs checkes" either. I dont care who you are "shopping" for. I dont think the crown prince of Azerbaijan wants a chihuahua. My puppy is gone! Where is he?
I will only hold a puppy if 1/2 of the total purchase price is paid. This deposit is non-refundable. If the puppy is not picked up in 2 weeks from the date of payment then the puppy is put back up for sale in the nursery.
Can I breed your puppies or do you fix them before hand?
I do not alter our puppies. We offer breedable puppies to those who wish to pass on their puppies genes. Breedable puppies are priced differently and will come with their full registration. If you purcahse a pet you will not receive your registration until you provide FHC a spay or neuter agreement or receipt. There is a 6 month window to do this or forefit your registry. Breeding is not a game or a quick fix for cash. It takes time, love, education and dedication to raise healthy and cared for puppies. After they come you must spend alot of time with them to develop social skills that are vital to the pups being placed in a new home! Please think before you act!

No. I put alot of hard work into making healty puppies. The price is not just because its a chihuahua. Its because of the care, socilization, birthing, vet care and food. Prenatal care (chihuahuas often have issues birthing litters and may require a c-section because of their pelvic girdle relative to pup size. Not to mention the supplies and time it takes to raise a healthy puppy. If you want a free puppy please look in your local papers. There are plenty of dogs that need a good home if you cannot afford a pure breed. But honestly. If you cannot afford vet care for ANY dog, be it purebreed or mixed then do not get one... Just like children animals need medical care too!
Some unethical persons to remain unnamed have even resorted to relying on the unfotunate events of others (IE: Victim of Hurricane Katrena, In a wheel chair, Elderly, Single Mom/Dad, Cancer...etc) Please dont do this. It does not look well... for example if you say you have terminal cancer how do you expect us to believe you can provide a forever home for this pup? These will not earn you a discount... yet our inbox is constatnly flooded with these emails. Please stop.

We do sell some of our puppies to breeders who want to integrate the Firehouse Chihuahua bloodline into theirs. This program is stringent to prevent unethical breeders. We sell our puppies at a higher rate to breeders relative to pet price. Papers will be released to pet owners when a spay/neuter certificate is produced for that particular puppy. If a pet is sold and not neutered within the 6 month timeframe then that puppy will be dropped from the Firehouse Chihuahua name.
I want a teacup puppy!
Did you know that Teacups are not a breed of Chihuahua, or ANY DOG FOR THAT MATTER? Reputable breeders will only use "SMALLER SIZE" and "LARGER SIZE" as references on how large or small the puppy will be. Just like humans, some are small and some are tall. I can hear it already.... "But I have a 6oz ADULT chihuahua". That's great, but this is how they are made.
Runt+Runt= Small Runt aka True Adult Teacup. Adult TC's often dont get over 1lb. This is the equivalent of a 25 year old woman weighing in at about 68lbs. See the severity? Runts are constantly bred to each other to make smaller and smaller dogs and often the runts since the other siblings took all of mother's nutrients developing and left the "runt" the scraps perse' to develop what they had to live, often shorting out on vital organs. These dogs pass on genetic mutations such as heart valve problems and improperly formed livers, which almost always lead to early death.
Please make sure you fully understand that Teacup isn't anything special or a breed title. Perspective owners need to know the truth and to avoid unethical breeders by falling for this trap. Some unethical breeders will take 2 dogs not of breed quality to make smaller more expensive puppies, and crank them out at a high and unhealthy rate of speed to meet the demand of the TEACUP! Resulting in sickly, genetically unsound pups which die well before their time. If you are looking for the smallest puppy you can find make sure both parents are healthy and the pup in question does not have any congenital defects that usually accompanies the forced smaller bred dogs (soft spot in the head, heart murmurs, etc). Puppies labeled "MICROS" , "POCKET" , "PURSE" or "TEACUPS" should be avoided. Look at the mother and father. Your puppy will probably fall in between the two in size and weight proportions.
FIREHOUSE CHIHUAHUAS WILL NEVER SAY TEACUP SIZED TO REFER TO THE SMALLER SIZED PUPPIES IN THE LITTER! We show a teacup and shotglass in our puppy photos to represent the actual size of our puppies in the images, not to imply TEACUP PUPPIES.
